Oxfordshire (UK) - will travel

Christopher Day has been working in the field of Natural Medicine for over 40 years. Herbal medicine is integrated into individualised therapeutic programmes for many patients.

Chris Day is a herbal vet, who treats all species of animal and will travel to see patients.

Variously called HERB VET, HERBAL VET, HERBS VET, PHYTOTHERAPY VET, we offer herb medicine (herbal medicine, herbal veterinary medicine, phytotherapy, herbalism) for our animal patients. Herb vet Chris Day uses mostly indigenous 'Western Herbs', as they are the natural medical background to our native animals. We also avoid herbal preparations that have been adulterated (e.g. by identification, extraction and purification of so-called 'active ingredients'). We prefer natural methodology, using herbs in their natural form.

Putting the patient first

The AVMC, founded by holistic vet and herb vet Chris Day, in 1987, is a centre of excellence for the delivery of professional homeopathy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, chiropractic and other natural therapies, for the treatment of animals of all species, types and breeds.

Christopher Day (herb vet/herbal vet and holistic vet) qualified as a vet in 1972, having also ‘home-studied’ homeopathy throughout his college years. He had treated himself with homeopathy for injuries and ailments since the age of eleven or twelve.

In the interests of being able to give unfettered and impartial advice, the AVMC and Chris Day receive no kick-backs or sponsorship from industry or commerce, market no products and promote no commercial interest. Our advice is not attended by pushing sales of product. In this way, we are able to offer the best and most impartial/independent advice we can, at any stage and on any topic, updating our outlook in accordance with ongoing development, research and awareness.

Herbal medicine (herb medicine/plant medicine/phytotherapy/herbalism) is the oldest therapy known to mankind. At the AVMC we believe in using indigenous herbs, in their whole and natural state, rather than extracting and purifying so-called 'active ingredients. The herb vet favours indigenous medicinal herbs over those from other continents, such as Indian Herbs and Chinese Herbs, as it seems more appropriate for our native animals to do so.

We have a deep respect for NATURE and strive to work with NATURE in all our work, thus harnessing the innate healing capabilities of our patients as best we can, to their health and welfare advantage. We believe that NATURE has the answer to most health problems and we trust in NATURE to help us in our work.

Herb vet at work: We see animals at the AVMC premises for phytotherapy (herbs) and we regularly visit an area stretching from Wales to London, from Devon to Kent, from South to North Midlands and from Bristol and West Midlands to the Wash and East Anglia. Visits are mainly to see horses but we can also arrange house calls (home visits) for domestic pets. We see many patients from London and visit London homes.
