FAQ Integrated Medicine

At the AVMC, we employ a number of different therapies and techniques in our efforts to help animals back to health. We make efforts to integrate these for optimum benefit.

Integration of therapies is important for several reasons:

1. No single therapy can do everything we require of medicine.

2. Therapies can clash (disharmony) if not integrated in a deliberate and careful way.

3. No single 'diagnostic' approach to a patient will reveal all that we need to find.

4. Dangerous summations may be possible between therapies (e.g. herbs and conventional drugs).

5. The integrative approach is inclusive of ideas and contributions from many directions, therefore enhancing chances of success.

Putting the patient first

The AVMC, founded by holistic vet Chris Day, in 1987, is a centre of excellence for the delivery of professional homeopathy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, chiropractic and other natural therapies, for the treatment of animals of all species, types and breeds. We practise our medicine in an integrated and integrative mode.

Christopher Day qualified as a vet in 1972, having also ‘home-studied’ homeopathy throughout his college years. He had treated himself with homeopathy for injuries and ailments since the age of eleven or twelve.

In the interests of being able to give unfettered and impartial advice, the AVMC and Chris Day receive no kick-backs or sponsorship from industry or commerce, market no products and promote no commercial interest. Our advice is not attended by pushing sales of product. In this way, we are able to offer the best advice we can, free from commercial incentive at any stage, updating our outlook in accordance with ongoing development, research and awareness.
