Science or Pseudoscience?

Science is a word that, like religion, is prone to appropriation by certain interests, to further their own ends. True science should be beyond prejudice and bias, enquiring into our natural world with an open mind and with respect and care for the object of its attentions. In particular, science should be based upon observation, rather than theory, upon real life as opposed to experiment. Science (or 'pseudo-science') is the disguise under which many commercial interests are served and the health of man, animals and the environment can be jeopardised with a shrug. In this section, we have highlighted some of the activities with a theoretical potential for great harm, yet which are being ‘researched’ by commercial organisations (for obvious commercial gain) with little regard for the risks.
