The experience of an owner

A letter of distress, received in August 2007:

"I felt compelled to write to you after losing my beautiful little West Highland Terrier girl three months ago. She was vaccinated every year. She was almost twelve and had been blind for two years. The specialist said it was brain-related. Floss had always suffered from gastro-enteritis problems and skin problems, from the age of ten, for which she was treated with antibiotics.

She was very ill last year, with gastro-enteritis after the vet gave her Metacam for her arthritis and her booster. She also had terrible skin problems.

This spring, she was circling and banging her head. She was very lethargic, couldn't digest her food and I had to make the decision to put her to sleep to save her from further suffering.

I am broken-hearted. I thought  I was giving her the best protection. Had I known then what I know now, I would have stopped vaccinations. If we can do something to highlight that vaccinations are doing more harm than good, then my little Westie girl will not have suffered in vain. Please find enclosed a copy of 'Is vaccination safe', from 'Your Cat' magazine June 2004.

Thank you ....."
