Wild Animal & Bird Topics and Issues

Return to Wild Animals main page

Wild creatures are essentially those who choose their environment, food and homes from what is available in their natural environmental niche. In an ideal wilderness, they can survive free of constraints and interference from mankind. Of course, nature is red in tooth and claw, resulting in natural suffering along with the idyll, but this is the order of nature.

Such places are now very few and far between, in our crowded world, more especially in the UK. With climate change rapidly becoming a reality, even the remaining wildernesses are no longer free from man’s touch.

With our effects on these creatures comes responsibility. Here, in the table below, are some articles that touch on those topics (click on the required link).

"What is man without the beasts?

If all the beasts were gone, men would die from a great loneliness of spirit.

For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man.

All things are connected."

from Seathl's Testament.

"Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace."

Albert Schweitzer
